La Favorita is a large tapas bar and like most places in Burgos... it fills up quickly! They won an award for best tapas dish in Spain; anchovies cooked and served on a mini grill. This little bad boy really packed a punch too.
We did some research on where to try the best lechazo asado (roast suckling lamb) nearby and discovered the crowded, family-run Bar Pancho.
We started with a few garlicky stuffed mushrooms.
Then onto the suckling lamb with is cooked in a wood-fired oven. The gravy was out of this world.
Attractive.
Done.
Cerveceria Morito is a fantastic, noisy tapas restaurant. Be prepared to share a table with some Spanish tourists - it gets very busy, but the atmosphere is brilliant. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Pictured above are the ribs with chimichurri sauce.
Unfortunately these photos don't really do it justice - the portions are HUGE. This platter included fried squid, jamon and morcilla from Burgos.
Enormous cheese salad.
We also enjoyed a nice full-bodied crianza from Ribera del Duero.
I am getting hungry looking a the food. What about if combine with tis wine:
